Spirit in the City is a festival that gathers people of all cultures for a joyful and dynamic Catholic celebration of faith in the West End of London. The dates this year are 11 to 14 June.

Volunteers are needed in the following capacities:

1. practical help on the days: setting up, preparing and serving lunch and refreshments

2. evangelisation on the street – welcoming people at the entrances to the square, training given on the day

3. welcoming ministry– help running one of the Information Points

4. prayer-support before/during the events, by the Adoration tent

If you are interested in helping out, or at least finding out what this might involve, please contact Spirit in the City at info@spiritinthecity.org |  Tel: 020 7440 2663

More information about the Festival follows here:

A unique outreach festival, born in 2006, which is now firmly established as an annual Christian festival in London’s West End, with the support of Cardinal Vincent Nichols.

The events include uplifting presentations and celebrations in the heart of London – both in the churches and on the streets in the neighbourhood.

The West End is usually known for the entertainment opportunities: theatres, bars, restaurants and shopping; however, the faith communities have a lot to offer and Spirit in the City aims to share the Good News of Christianity in the heart of London!

For the full programme see here.

The 2014 programme will feature Rob Galea, a Catholic Priest and a Christian singer and songwriter from the island of Malta, currently residing in Australia. Fr. Rob’s passion is to draw others to the heart of God. He believes, along with a number of other important voices in the Christian tradition stretching even from Apostolic times, that music is an important instrument in helping others understand the need for intimacy with God.

His music is a mix of the heartfelt and spiritual. Robert’s music has enjoyed widespread fame in the European and Australian Catholic community and his albums have enjoyed a sustained success in Malta, the UK, and Australia, to name but a few. Fr Rob completed his seminary studies in Melbourne in 2010, and is currently serving as an assistant priest at St Brendan’s Catholic Church in Shepparton in the Diocese of Sandhurst, Victoria, Australia. http://www.frrobgalea.com/

The programme will also feature: Noel Robinson (http://www.noelrobinson.com/), Brightline band and others.

Come and join us make this event happen…

because our passion for God takes us beyond the church walls!
