Are you happier when your values and your workplace are in harmony? A “Faith in Work” retreat at Boarbank Hall
This invitation comes from Good Works:
I am writing to invite you to join us for a unique retreat on the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend to explore what work is really about, with fellow professionals from across the private, public and third sectors. This promises to be a different sort of weekend where the participants are hand picked from different areas of work and will be followed up and supported for genuine long lasting results. To make all of this possible the curators have created a partnership which integrates this project with academic research as well.
More about your stay
The curators know Bank Holiday Weekends are precious and aim to ‘walk the talk’ when it comes to ethics like the Common Good. So in the interests of ‘work-life balance’ and the avoidance of ‘group think’, spouses and families are welcome as well. They can join in for tea-breaks, meals and some guided hill walking as well as in their free time. Boarbank Hall has its own beautiful grounds in the unrivaled surroundings of the Cartmel Peninsula in Cumbria, with panoramic views across Morecambe Bay. There is even a tennis court for the children to play on. And last but not least, the kitchen serves wonderful locally sourced food. This all adds up to the perfect place for relaxation and reflection.
The cost of the retreat depends on whether you opt for a single or double room, and an en suite or shared bathroom. But the guide price is £250 per person for the whole weekend from Friday lunchtime to Monday lunchtime. In order to make the most of the retreat, participants are encouraged to attend for the full weekend.
The next step
If this sounds just right for you, then ask yourself if you agree with the proposition that nobody has a monopoly on wisdom, truth, charity or faith.
If you do and you are able to come on these dates, then go to the webpage on the Boarbank Hall website for more details and/or email us to reserve places at nfranchini@hotmail.co.uk (Nick Franchini, Co-Curator). There are only 24 places available in the retreat itself.
