How to find healing after an abortion: weekend retreats with Rachel’s Vineyard this June and October
Rachel’s Vineyard UK has two weekend retreats coming up over the next few months. One of the best ways of publicising these is through the parish newsletter and noticeboard. You can find out about the work of Rachel’s Vineyard at their website here.
Here are some words from the website:
Rachel’s Vineyard is a safe place to renew and rebuild your life after experiencing the trauma of abortion. The healing weekends offer you a supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment where women and men can deal with painful post-abortive emotions.
Rachel’s Vineyard can help you experience God’s love and compassion on a profound level. It creates a place where men and women can share, often for the first time, their deepest feelings about abortion.
Rachel’s Vineyard is is a place of reconciliation. Participants, who have often experienced deep anger toward themselves or others, experience forgiveness. Peace is found. Lives are restored. A sense of hope and meaning for the future is discovered.
These testimonies are from the website:
“Words cannot express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to come on the retreat. I was so lost, sad, alone, and afraid. I now see hope, joy and happiness. God was present every step of the way. The weekend was excellent…”
“It was the best weekend of my life. For the first time in 20 years I was able to share my grief, my guilt, my anger. I was able to mourn the loss of my baby…”
“I had given up on myself, and thought that I had nothing else to offer anyone in life. I had tried all types of counseling and therapy and nothing worked for me… I was very scared and apprehensive about coming to Rachel’s Vineyard and having to share my story. It was the best experience of my life…”
These are the dates coming up. Do contact them via the website here.

What a great initiative. It would be so worthwhile if this could be extended to other locations. And who knows it may encourage women who have experienced termination to mentor those who are in crisis pregnancies.
I fully agree with Mags! It would indeed be great if this could be extended to other places.
