Fifteen kids with Down syndrome tell a mum what to expect from her baby

Filed in Family by on March 24, 2014 2 Comments

A late nod to World Down Syndrome Day which took place last Friday (21 March). Just in case you didn’t see this remarkable video. The blurb is from the Mamamia website:

Coor Down, an Italy-based Down syndrome advocacy group, received the following letter from an expectant mother:

“I’m expecting a baby. I’ve discovered he has Down syndrome. I’m scared: what kind of life will my child have?”

In an awesome move, Coor Down decided to go straight to the source to get the future mum answers – they asked 15 people with Down syndrome to explain to her what she can expect from her beautiful new baby.

Just in time for World Down Syndrome Day on March 21, it’s impossible to watch this heartwarming video called “Dear Future Mom” without breaking into a smile (or getting something stuck in your eye).

Well worth watching! It was, indeed, not possible to smile or get something stuck in my eye as the young people were talking. This should serve as a great encouragement to any Mum to be who is expecting a baby with Down’s Syndrome. To anybody not yet convinced of the evil of abortion, it ought also to serve as an indictment against it.
    Thanks for this post!
