I gave a talk in Brentwood on Saturday on the topic ‘Pope Francis, his vision of social justice, and what it means for us’. This was part of a conference organised by The Commission for Justice and Social Responsibility in the Diocese of Brentwood.

    The thing I like about Pope Francis is that when it comes to justice and peace he states that it is time to get up and actually ‘do’ something about the problems. In the past justice and peace in lay Catholic circles has not exclusively, but mostly turned into pointless talking shops.

    Pope Francis is a breath of fresh air in this respect.

    Father Stephen, I am sharing this as widely as I can. It is a beautiful, Spirit filled call to us all to get out and do what we are called to do.
    I hope that the Ordinariate can find the courage to follow Pope Francis’ radicalism… “A poor Church for the poor!”
