I posted about St Maximilian Kolbe at the weekend. Here is the trailer to the play in case you didn’t catch it before.

NEW DATE ADDED

Ten Ten Theatre’s production of “Kolbe’s Gift” completely sold out all its 2,800 tickets three months in advance of the opening night.  However, with just two weeks to go before curtain up, we are delighted to announce that an extra date has been added on Sunday 6 October at 1pm.

Early booking is advised to secure seats at this unique event in the heart of London’s West End.  Just under 400 tickets are available from the theatre Box Office from Tuesday 17 September at midday.

ABOUT KOLBE’S GIFT:
In 1941, Polish priest Maximilian Kolbe entered the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. A gifted man, Kolbe was the founder of monasteries in Poland and Japan, produced a monthly magazine with a circulation of over one million and formed an international movement to help bring people to the Catholic faith. Then, a chance encounter with an ordinary soldier, Franek Gajowniczec, led Kolbe to an extraordinary act – walking away from all that he had and could have achieved.  David Gooderson’s powerful play tells the true story of these two men. One became feted across the globe. The other faded into obscurity. This is their story.

He then developed a second career as a writer, winning the BBC Northern Exposure Award for his play “On Eagles Wings” and writing for the BBC One drama “Doctors” and numerous radio plays. He founded Ten Ten Theatre – a professional theatre company with an underlying Christian ethos rooted in the Catholic tradition - with his sister Clare in 2007. Since that time, Ten Ten has developed a wide-ranging programme in drama-based Relationship Education in primary schools, secondary schools and parishes, currently working with over 80,000 children and young people every year. The company has also won awards for its work with young offender institutions and has more recently moved into mainstream theatre productions, starting with the sell-out production of “Kolbe’s Gift” at the off-West End venue, The Leicester Square Theatre, in October 2013. When not working, Martin tries (and sometimes, just sometimes, succeeds) to beat his 12-year-old nephew on Fifa… www.tententheatre.co.uk
